| Dr Ata Akin received his Ph.D. on Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University in 1998. While a Research Assistant Professor at the School of Biomedical Engineering in Drexel University during 1999 through 2001, he conducted research on the fields of biomedical optics and biomedical information technology. Dr. Akin's group focuses on the use of near-infrared spectroscopy method in neuroimaging studies of the brain and muscle. His research includes the investigation of neurovascular coupling hypothesis in cognitive neurosciences, muscle perfusion during exercise and rehabilitation. He also develops models and algorithms in further understanding the underlying dynamics of tissue perfusion. |
